A Mother’s Urgent Prayer

A message from a heavenly angel brought one mom true peace of mind.

Heavenly angels: Clouds and shining light

Even if my daughter was 21, I was anxious over her taking her first road trip all on her own.

I’d gone to the mall to distract myself. Still, my mind was on Dana. The trip had gone well, but she was making the long drive home this afternoon. I wished she was home already.

I wandered through a department store and felt a command: Pray for her. Pray for her now. I stopped short, letting people walk around me while I concentrated on Dana. God, watch over her while she’s at the wheel. Let her know you’re with her.

As quickly as it came, the urgency was gone. I glanced at my watch. It was 2:10.

Later that afternoon, the phone rang at home. It was Dana. Her voice was shaky. “I’m okay,” she assured me, “just a little rattled. A truck ahead of me hit a rock or something. It flew into my windshield. I lost control of my car and spun off the road.”

“Did anyone stop to help you?” I asked.

“A lady stopped first, and then a military man and his family. He drove my car to the next town, where I could get a bite to eat and calm down. I’m getting back on the road now.”

Once she was safe at home, I told Dana about my experience at the mall. “I didn’t know why. I just knew you needed to know God was with you.”

Dana’s eyes widened. She grabbed my hand. “Mom, you remember I told you about the lady who stopped first. She looked into my face and said, ‘God is with you.’”

“What time did all this happen?” I asked. Of course it was just after two. Just after an angel urged me to pray.
