The Transformative Power of Prayer

Tap into the strongest force in the universe.

The Christian religion is far greater than anyone realizes. It tells weak people they can become strong. It tells defeated people they can become victorious. Jesus assures us: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Christianity tells unhappy, mixed-up people they can find a fresh start. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

How does this transformation take place? By asking God—for help, deliverance, forgiveness. God is eager to give us the wisdom we need for successful daily living. “Ask me, and I will tell you things that you don’t know and can’t find out” (Jeremiah 33:3). Call upon God, it says, and he will answer. He will show you tremendous things! And yet many of us make something small and indifferent out of our religion.

A profound law of human nature states that we become to a very large degree what we think. If you think little and believe little and act little, the results are likely to be little. If, on the contrary, you think big, believe big, act big, the results are very likely to equate with bigness. “You do not have because you do not ask God” (James 4:2).

Spend some time today with your loving Heavenly Father…and ask.
