See Your Worries from God’s Perspective

I’ve noticed that when I ask God to take away my worries, often nothing changes…

Daily Devotionals blogger Julia Attaway

The other day it occurred to me that worry never glorifies God, because worry is never about God. It’s about me.

Worry is about what I desire, and what I fear.
Worry is about my inability to control the outcome of a situation.
Worry is about inhabiting the world of my what-ifs.
Worry is about getting stuck.

I’ve noticed that when I ask God to take away my worries, often nothing changes. But when I ask him to help me look at my worries from his perspective, things improve. I’m able to step back from my fears and desires and see the situation more objectively. And then I can praise God, and glorify him, and live the life he wants me to live.
