Hi. I’m Colleen Hughes, editor-in-chief of Angels on Earth, with a true story of an everyday angel from Nancy Davis-Grow in Woodville, Texas. Angels come to us every day as a neighbor, an unexpected rescuer, a kind stranger, or a loyal pet. Listen now to a story of just such an everyday angel. 

Although Nancy was busy at work and had close friends and family, something was missing from her life. She was lonely. I just want to feel loved, she said to God. Is that so much to ask? 

One day, she went to a shop across the street from where she worked at lunchtime and found a mug with a red heart and the words “I love you” written over and over in fancy cursive– the very words she needed to hear. Feeling lighter, she went to the cashier to pay for it. The clerk checked the mug, but couldn’t find a price sticker. I need a price check, he called out to the store manager. 

The manager looked, then shrugged. That’s the only one. I’ve never seen another like it. Take it– no charge. Nancy held the mug tight to her chest. God had bluster with a sign of His love, and He gave it freely.
