What Inspires You

The beauty of the natural world and cherished memories are inspiring Guideposts readers this week.

Mel Finefrock shares this wonderful story: “My grandfather found one of those gift-bag tags last night that said, “To Mojo, from Don.” Don, a very close family friend, died a year and a half ago, and I still have the present that was in that bag; but being blind, I had no idea that the tag was still around. I treasure it very much … memories are inspiring!”

Sometimes inspiration comes from just looking out your front door. “I live in the Northwest, out in the country where the mountains wrap around the valley,” writes Gayla Childers. “I always think of the Psalm that says, ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whencecometh my help.’ It reminds me that God is all around me and every day I am reminded of the marvels of his creation—yesterday it was two bald eagles fighting for territory!”

Sue Volkman felt inspiration to help those in need: “I was inspired to give away my sweet white Christmas tree with clear lights a few months ago. That tree brought me much joy, but I couldn’t help feeling that in this time of economic hardship, there was a single mom out there who needed it more than I did, and I pray that that’s where it ended up.”

And finally, “God’s blessings on me and my family have inspired me to share them with people who are searching but don’t know what they are looking for,” writes Virginia Sullivan.
