Secrets of Mary's Bookshop

When Mary’s Mystery Bookshop hosts an event featuring a famous author, Mary can’t help but notice that one of the guests in the audience looks remarkably like her old friend, Claire! But when Mary goes to reintroduce herself to her once-best friend, she disappears without a trace. As if this wasn’t profound enough, rumors begin to spread around Ivy Bay about a secret relationship between Claire and Mary’s husband, John.  Are the rumors just rumors, or was there an unwelcome romance that Mary was never aware of? And what exactly is it that Claire is running away from?

Henry is excited about his new car—a 1955 Buick Century— and he invites Mary over to see it. However, when Henry goes off to investigate a few strange sounds emanating from his garage, Mary finds him lying unconscious and a mysterious, indistinguishable figure running away. With Henry lying in a coma, it’s up to Mary to investigate the matter and uncover the individual who harmed her friend. A series of strange events, however, makes her wonder about the extent to which Henry is in over his head.

Mary has become the victim of identity theft! Her efforts to contractually adjust the mortgage of the bookshop are denied because of an incredibly excessive balance on a new credit card that she doesn’t recall ever applying for. Who would have access to Mary’s personal information, and more importantly, who would want to aim an attack squarely at Mary in Ivy Bay? As Mary investigates the matter further, she discoverers the list of possible suspects is longer than she initially realized. Could it be any of the potential culprits, or is it someone that she doesn’t even suspect?
