Angels Were Near

How did you spend your holidays? I spent mine with family all around me.

Angels on Earth blogger Colleen Hughes

This picture pretty much sums up what I did over the holidays of 2011. Besides being filled with Nativity sets and Christmas angels galore, the Hughes Family living room was filled with cousins. And we were still three cousins short of the whole crew! (We missed you, Fuery, Jesse and Finn.)

The newest member of the group is little Jude, in the navy striped shirt. At almost nine months, he doesn’t quite have the hang of crawling yet, so he rolls to where he wants to go. It works!

Jude is sitting on cousin Graham’s lap. You might remember Graham and his sister, Audrey, whose yummy lemon squares were featured in Angels on Earth. And then there’s Sawyer, the princess in gold, and her brothers, Scout and Race, looking mighty sharp in their blue blazers.

My Evie, front and center with her red hair and a ring on every finger, turned nine on Christmas Eve, but we seemed to celebrate for the entire month of December. Big sister Lulu was a good sport while we lavished attention on the birthday girl. Lulu knows that among the earth angels in my life, she’s my number one.

Angels were near this holiday season. May they stay as close all the new year.
